Description

Up for bid is a 1933 ATWATER KENT Model 165 Cathedral Radio.
The Atwater Kent name has always meant the finest quality...
A very attractive Cathedral style radio, featuring a Lighted Dial, along with very fine Latticework enhancing the front of the unit.
The tabletop radio has five tubes and is a Superheterodyne circuit radio. This provides excellent sensitivity and selectivity. A new development, an Automatic Volume Control(AVC)
was incorporated in this radio to equalize the volume of near and far stations. Switchable between two bands, the AM Broadcast Band and a Police Band(vacant today).
This radio is all original. The cabinet has NOT been refinished. The original finish is in great shape
with a beautiful patina. The chassis is Nickel Plated and in excellent condition. It has been gone over by an expert in 2005 who replaced the aging capacitors and electrically restored the unit. With a suitable antenna connected, it will pull in many AM stations.
Dimensions are 14 1/2" high x 12" wide x 8" deep.
This item will be professionally packed and shipped.
It is strongly recommended that prior to utilizing any vintage tube equipment for actual use, that they be taken to a professional
to properly inspected and/or serviced if you are not an expert. Due to age and the somewhat fragile nature of tube equipment, no warranties with respect to functionality are offered.
Shipping, Packing, Handling, Tracking and Insurance will be .00.
