Antique Brass Surveyor's Compass with Handle and original Box

Description

This is an RARE Antique Brass Surveyor's Compass with a brass handle that screws into the bottom so it can be held easily as you use it.
This Compass comes in the original wood box.
The Compass is in very good condition and functions properly. The Brass shows signs of age to the finish. The Handle screws into the bottom properly. There is a needle brake on the side that locks the needle in place during transport. (shown in picture 6 by red arrow).
The wood box is solid but has a crack and a chip on the bottom and the back. There use to be little latches that secured the box closed which are broken or missing. This is shown in the last two pictures by red arrows. The Box measures 4 1/4" by 3 1/4" by 1 1/4".
The Compass is 2 3/4" in diameter. It is 5 1/4" tall with the handle screwed in and the sight holders raised.
The Compass, handle and box weigh a total of 13 OZ.
This Compass is very interesting and this style of old compass is rare and hard to find.
