    Description

    This is a lovely older framed Chinese Reverse Painted
    Glass Picture of a Chinese Mother and Daughter. The mother appears to be fixing her daughter’s hair at her dressing table. The frame is made of wood, painted in gloss black and measures approximately 22 11/16” x 16 1/8” x ¾”. Its length with the ornamental brass hanger at the top measures approximately 24 1/4” in length to the frame size.
    The painted colors include black, cinnabar, cream, mauve, pink, and white, with shades of brown, gray, green, orange, skin tone, teal, and off white.
    The stained berry wood backing the is held on the back with small wooden pegs and the wood itself has some imperfections. These pegs fit tight into their slots; however, I do see what looks like a bit of glue on two of the pegs. The ornamental brass hanger has been screwed into the frame and there is what looks like a newer wired attached to the back for ease of hanging.
    You will find the frame has a small amount surface rubs, a bit of black lacquer loss, and some old dust. There is also two ¼” and one 3/16” surface chips located in the bottom right inside corner of the frame. The painting has a small amount of paint drips/paint spots and possible paint loss.
