IRELAND 20-Crown 1808-1910 Patina Pattern Collection in different Alloys
These crownsized Patina were issued to show what Irish crowns of George III, George IV , , William IV, Victoria and Edward VII might have looked like, had they actually been issued. On the obverse you have the bust of William IV just like it looks on the 1831 British crown. They are retro-dated from 1808 to 1910 so as not confuse collectors. They are beautiful crownsized pieces in Uncirculated-Prooflike condition. Issued in different alloys: Copper, Pewter, Bronze and Nickel Silver. The workmanship is outstanding especially on bust of George III, William IV and Victoria
The coins have been made in Birmingham UK in 2001, using old coining techniques, near the site of Matthew Boulton’s Soho Mint.
Some of these pattern pieces  are featured in ‘UNUSUAL WORLD COINS’ catalogue by Colin Bruce, Krause Publications.
