The orig pntng is laid dwn on board & has gray hardboard backing, w/brass holding clasps. Atop the frame sits the orig ornamental, reticulated brass hanger for wall mounting. The image is of a seated Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty, dressed in a formal royal blue & cordovan silk robe, w/embroidered shoulders. The Emperor Wen holds a dec paper hand fan in one hand, seen off to his side. He wears a trad period ceremonial, aristocratic cap, w/an attached, rigid drk board. He sits on a regal, aristocratic pntd wdn throne & looks slightly off to one side & past the viewer. 100% untouched. Fnd in a South Shore MA fine estate. Unsgnd. In orig wdn frm. No cond issues.
