Joan of 1920
The dress on Joan represents a garment which was worn by a Maid-of-Honor at a wedding in 1920. The dress is of pink satin trimmed with silver lace and is the only short dress in this collection. Gathered cap sleeves are trimmed with tiny rosebuds. The doll wears a "combination"--a typical undergarment of the period. Her hair is gently arranged as women wore it before the bob become popular. She wears pearls and carries a beautiful bouquet with roses and ribbon streamers. Her sculpted shoes are silver leather with low heels and button straps.
