    Description

    This auction consists of a vintage Gong Bell Co. Silver Chimes Plaphone candlestick telephone with 2 working bells.I believe this is a string telephone. Looks like it needs new string. These phone work on vibration.Sound vibrates on the string to a membrane. It is from the 1920's and is in good condition. When the receiver in hung up the bell rings. The label needs some glue. The receiver both receives and transmits as the does the transmitter. These type of phones were used in the later 1800's.It stands about 9 3/4 in. tall and the base is 3 1/2 in. in diameter. Sold as shown.
