WW2 Royal Navy Model HMS Bluebell Corvette Uboat Sunk Invasion Fleet British. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Up for sale is a very nice model of the HMS Bluebell made by the artist Ron Hughes. HMS Bluebell was a Flower-class corvette that served in the Royal Navy in World War II. Ordered from Fleming & Ferguson of Paisley, Scotland on 27 July 1939, she was launched on 24 April 1940 and commissioned in July 1940. She served in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Arctic campaigns, escorting several convoys to Russia, and also took part in the invasions of Sicily and France. She was torpedoed and sunk by U-711 under the command of Hans-Günther Lange[1] in the Kola Inlet on 17 February 1945 while escorting the convoy RA-64 from Murmansk. Only one member of her crew survived.
This is a very very well made model, obviously a master craftsmen constructed this piece. The attention to detail is stunning and this Corvette comes alive. I think any collector will be greatly satisfied with this piece on display in the war room. Model measures 5.75” tall, 11.25” long, and 5” wide. There is a little bit of paint loss on the lettering, but other than that no condition issues I can see expect for some aging of the wood frame etc. all around super piece and will display beautifully!
I will be wrapping this item up very very well. Shipping cost is higher than normal to account for the weight of multiple boxes, foam and peanuts that will likely be used to make sure this model can make it to the moon and back! Have no fear in this breaking, and buy with confidence!
